On Friday, MKM Partners upgraded shares of JDS Uniphase (NASDAQ: JDSU) from Neutral to Buy and raised the price target from $15 to $18.

Analyst Michael Genovese believes confidence is increasing for the global carrier capex environment and positive product-mix trends should yield higher margins for the company.

Uniphase supplies TDD-LTE drive test and base station analyzers in addition to 100G optical components, which is positive for capex growth at China Mobile, the analyst said.

Shares of Uniphase are up 0.62 percent to $14.64. Genovese's $18 price target is 23 percent above current levels.
