Arkansas Best Misses, But Not As Badly As Expected

Dahlman Rose has published a research report on Arkansas Best Corporation ABFS after the company reported a $0.03 EPS miss, which was still better than the expected losses from Dahlman and consensus. In the report, Dahlman Rose writes "Arkansas Best reported 3Q10 loss/sh of $0.03, better than our estimate of a loss of $0.07/sh and consensus estimate of a loss of $0.04/sh. This compares to a loss of $0.23/sh in 3Q09 and a loss of $0.29/sh reported last quarter. That said, the company noted that late-2009 changes made to various non-union fringe benefit costs had a positive impact on the results." Dahlman Rose maintains its Hold rating on Arkansas Best Corporation, which closed yesterday at $25.98.
