Shares of United Technologies Corporation UTX are up more than 17 percent in Friday’s after-hours trading session, ahead of the announcement of the company’s third quarter financial results, scheduled for before the market opens next Tuesday.
According to Estimize, the Street expects the tech company to deliver earnings of $1.54 per share on revenue of $14.593 billion, considerably below the earnigns of $1.82 per share on revenue of $16.168 billion registered a year ago.
The other big gainer of the afternoon is Helix Energy Solutions Group Inc HLX, which is up more than 10 percent since the bell rang. The small-cap international offshore energy services company seems to be surging on no particular news, but rather recuperating the ground lost during the day – the stock fell 9.56 percent on Friday trading.
In the Nasdaq exchange, GW Pharmaceuticals PLC- ADR GWPH leads the gainers, up about 2 percent since the market closed, once again, on no particular news.
On the other hand, there’s SYSCO Corporation SYY, down about 13 percent in after-hours, losing all of the ground gained during the day (1.57 percent).
Also declining are:
Amtech Systems, Inc. ASYS, down almost 3 percent since the bell rang
Novocure Ltd NVCR, down about 2.5 percent
New York & Company, Inc. NWY, down more than 8 percent
Petroleo Brasileiro SA - Petrobras (ADR) PBR, down roughly 2 percent.
