Detroit Company Receives ICCC Investor Funding Invitation

DETROIT, Sept. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Exergetic Energy, Inc. (EEI) XNGR, an integrated energy supply company, is pleased to announce its recent nomination by Malinda Jensen, director of business development, Detroit Economic Growth Corporation to participate in the 2011 Inner City Capital Connections (ICCC) program. This nomination comes as a result of EEI's efforts, initiated two months ago with the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, to acquire city property in order to develop a renewable energy power plant within the city.

ICCC is a free, national program designed to drive the growth of inner city businesses. It is a partnership between the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC), a nonprofit research and strategy organization with a mission “to drive economic prosperity in America's inner cities through private sector investments to create jobs, income, and wealth for local residents” and Bank of America. ICCC connects inner city business leaders with capital providers, including: private equity, debt financing, mezzanine, venture capital, and angel investors. Additionally, ICIC educates investment-ready inner city companies about sources of capital and matches them with investors to grow their businesses and create jobs.

“We are very proud of this nomination for several reasons,” stated Clarence B. McCollum, chairman and CEO of Exergetic Energy, Inc. “The benefits from the one-day coaching session in Detroit in October to the formal ‘introductions to investors' sessions, which will take place in early November in New York, alone should prove invaluable.” Since its inception in 2005, the ICCC program has successfully garnered more than $372 million in capital for participating companies and continues to build upon this track record of success by fostering relationships between select companies and investors.

“We are excited about this auspicious invitation to be included on a distinguished list of other very successful businesses that have benefited from this program,” added McCollum.
