Johnson has had a great deal of experience in the retail store industry, as he came from Target to work for Apple eleven years ago. Apple retail stores are known nationwide, if not worldwide, to be one of the best in the market. Johnson oversaw the entire building of the first Apple retail stores and has been with the company ever since.
In a statement to All Things D, Apple confirmed that a replacement is already being looked for.
“Ron is excited about this opportunity and we hope it goes well for him,” a spokesperson said. “We've got a great retail team in place and are actively recruiting for his replacement.”
