Today, it was announced that company called called
Kuokoa Inc. is in the process of making an offer to buy Hawaiian Electric Industries (
HE), the large Hawaiian utility that generates its electricity from a wide range of
green and environmentally conscious sources, including wind, solar, photovoltaic, geothermal, wave, hydroelectric, municipal waste, and even sugarcane. Kuokoa Inc. is a start-up company that claims to have funding from three banks.
