GoPro Announces Acquisition Of 2 Mobile Video Editing App Makers

GoPro Inc GPRO announced on Monday it has agreed to acquire two mobile video editing apps to "deliver ultra-convenient, yet powerful, mobile editing solutions" to its customers.

GoPro has agreed to acquire Replay, developed by France-based Stupeflix. The app allows users to select video clips and photos and combine them into a single video with transition effects, graphics and music.

GoPro has also agreed to acquire Splice, developed by U.S.-based Vemory. The app allows users to create customized edits with features normally found on desktop applications.

"Splice, Replay and GoPro will combine to deliver what we believe will be the fastest and most enjoyable mobile editing experience," said Nicholas Woodman, founder and CEO of GoPro. "We believe the accessibility, speed and efficiency of mobile will make it the predominant editing platform of the future."

Shares of GoPro were trading higher by nearly 1 percent at $11.99 in pre-market trading early Tuesday morning.
