. The stock is trading up in Thursday's pre-market session following the released 8-K filing. Amira Nature Foods has entered into a $92 million contract to supply third party branded basmati rice to a key repeat customer in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa ("EMEA") region. The company had announced several distribution deals in recent months. Amira Nature Foods secured many distribution partnerships last October and November in North America to provide its Amira branded products in local chains such as Price Chopper stores. Amira Nature Foods sales are in over 40 countries. The provider of packaged Indian specialty rice and other related rice based products already operates more than 130 stores in New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire. The New York based company has been selling its Amira branded products primarily to Indian retailers, however they recently have been aggressive with its partnership and distribution within the North American market. Amira Nature Foods products are in stores such as Bharti Wal-Mart, Metro Cash & Carry, Big Bazaar, Spar, Spencers Retail, Star Bazaar (Tesco in India) and Total and retailers, such as Jetro Restaurant Depot, Carrefour, Costco, Lulus and Smart & Final, and by food service channel. ANFI stock is currently moving higher over 200 percent in the last four and a half months. For traders, the stock may increase even higher for 2016. ANFI stock closed at $8.8 during the last trading session Wednesday. The company's stock is down 11.11 percent since May 28, 2015.
