According to UK-based Daily Mail, Vodafone Group Plc (ADR) VOD is working on a "mouth-watering" £140 billion ($207 billion) merger with Liberty Global plc LBTYA.
The Daily Mail continued that "dealers now hear" that Liberty's chairman, John Malone, has "instigated new merger talks." Meanwhile, Vodafone and Liberty bosses "have been meeting major investors to gauge what their appetites may be for a friendly merger."
Shares of Vodafone were trading higher by 2.27 percent at $32.85 following the Daily Mail's report while shares of Liberty Global were higher by 2.55 percent at $41.47 at the same time.
