These Three Executives Say Cloud Software Will Reinvent Tradional Businesses
In exclusive interviews with three leaders of the enterprise social network space, Benzinga got a unique look into the future of cloud technology.
The Cloud is Now
All three executives made it clear the business are leaving bulky software platforms behind and heading into the cloud. Zingale of Jive explained, “Its pretty clear that the enterprises are re-platforming around the world. They are moving away from the dusty single stock implications, from the large enterprise software companies around the world, including companies like Microsoft and IBM.”
“The recent intersection of cloud, mobile, social and information has radically transformed the way in which we find information and connect to people in our personal lives,” continued Craig Malloy of Bloomfire.
Unseen Technological Flexibility
“A pure cloud computing model means we can deliver faster updates based on their input,” explained Dixon about the Igloo Software system. “There’s no need to turn to expensive IT consultants for customizations or worry about software, hardware, maintenance and updates.”
On the same wave length, Zingale stated, “It's a more productive delivery vehicle, it is a less expensive delivery vehicle, and certainly it affords enterprises around the world the ability to access innovation in a much more rapid pace than they've previously experienced.”
A Look Into The Future
In a research report, the IDC predicted that Software as a Service firms will have top market share positions within the next three years. In addition, cloud servers will dominate, leaving traditional infrastructure in the dust.
“A new class of B2B applications, many in the social enterprise space, and most initially serving smaller customers, are starting to give today's workforce a best in class consumer like experience,” said Malloy.
Dixon added, “We can put the power in the hands of the end user to personalize and adapt the user interface to fit the way they work.” A technology that will only be further available in the future.
