Samsung Announces Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab 7.7

At the 2011 IFA conference in Berlin, Germany, Samsung announced two new devices that will be branded under the Galaxy name: the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy Tab 7.7.

Galaxy Note

The Samsung Galaxy Note sports a 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a large viewing angle, a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor, LTE support, and an advanced pen input technology. The Galaxy Note is powered by Android OS 2.3 (a.k.a. "Gingerbread") and features an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera alongside a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The device also has an optional near field communication (a.k.a. "NFC") feature. 

Galaxy Tab 7.7

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 sports a 7.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor, and weighs in at a mere 12 ounces. The tablet is powered by Android OS 3.2 (a.k.a. "Honeycomb") and includes Samsung's TouchWiz UX. The tablet is also capable of full 1080p video playback. 

There is a 3-megapixel rear-facing camera alongside a 2-megapixel front-facing camera on the Galaxy Tab 7.7 and the tablet comes in 16, 32, or 64 GB models.
