Today, LG announced its plans to release the ultra-slim Optimus Sol smartphone. The device, which measures in at a mere 9.8mm, will hit the European market sometime in the middle of September. The phone features "power-saving" technologies, Wi-Fi support, and enhanced multimedia playback.
The Optimus Sol sports a 1 GHz dual-core processor, 512 MB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera, and a 3.8-inch ultra AMOLED display. The display is reportedly perfect for using the Optimus Sol in direct sunlight, which is coincidentally where the device got its name ("sol" means "sun" in Spanish).
Roll-outs in Central and South America are coming soon as well. The Optimus Sol will be available in black, titan, and white, with availability depending on the region.
