Zuckerberg’s Side Project Wirehog Almost Put Facebook To Death

Sean Parker, the former President of Facebook, and David Kirkpatrick, the author of The Facebook Effect, bring to light Wirehog, a side-project by Mark Zuckerberg, which is equally interesting as the Facebook that almost killed Facebook. The two made this revelation at the Disrupt stage TechCrunch New York with Michael Arrington of TechCrunch. Wirehog was a peer-to-peer file-sharing service hooked up to Facebook. Kirkpatrick said Parker ended it in early 2006. Parker suggested that Wirehog was such a great idea that had it been made legal, Facebook would have succumbed in its cradle.
