Los Angeles Team Mentoring (LATM) Hosts Its First “Bowl-A-Thon” Fundraiser

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Los Angeles Team Mentoring (LATM), one of LAUSD’s premier after-school programs that targets at-risk middle-school youth, held its first Bowl-A-Thon fundraiser at Lucky Strike Lanes in Hollywood, Calif. on Apr. 20, 2010 to help raise funds for its program that is currently operating in 14 middle schools across Los Angeles County.

The Bowl-A-Thon consisted of 14 teams that were comprised of corporate supporters, board and associate board members, as well as their friends and colleagues. All teams raised money for the local non-profit and were given the chance to compete for prizes during the event.

“Our first Bowl-A-Thon fundraiser was a great success thanks to the tireless effort of our staff, mentors, board and associate board members, corporate supporters, and local community,” said Liza Bray, executive director of Los Angeles Team Mentoring. “This fundraiser helped LATM secure funds that were needed to ensure that local at-risk youth continue to have a great team-mentoring program that provides them with support, encouragement and people that listen and care about their futures.”

The Bowl-A-Thon was also open to the public, giving the Los Angeles community the opportunity to support the local non-profit and take part of the live drawings, games and other activities.

All proceeds from the night benefited LATM. For more information on Los Angeles Team Mentoring, please visit www.LATM.org or call 213.742.6733. LATM can also be found on Twitter @LATeamMentoring and on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/LATeamMentoring.
