Americas’ SAP Users’ Group Creates SAP BusinessObjects Ambassador Program

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

The Americas’ SAP Users’ Group (ASUG), the world’s largest customer-run community of SAP professionals, announced today the formation of its SAP BusinessObjects Ambassador program. The initiative’s primary goal is to establish outreach and education initiatives that promote a better understanding of the expertise available within the BusinessObjects community and the resources that are currently available to all SAP customers.

The program will officially launch at the April 16 ASUG North Texas Chapter meeting in Dallas. During that meeting, Ambassadors will lead collaborative sessions with SAP BusinessObjects customers and ASUG members to ensure that BusinessObjects customers engaging with ASUG and SAP for the first time are aware of the resources that can improve their experience as SAP customers.

“The Ambassador program is a direct result of feedback from BusinessObjects customers who wanted to ensure they maintained a strong voice within the SAP ecosystem,” said Abbe Mulders, ASUG Chairperson. “As we have demonstrated by expanding our governance model to include a dedicated BusinessObjects position on our Board of Directors, ASUG is absolutely committed to ensuring that the needs of all SAP customers are met. The Ambassadors play a pivotal role in making sure the BusinessObjects community remains aware of how top of mind they are within our organization.”

In addition to being recognized as leaders in the ASUG community, BusinessObjects Ambassadors are being granted status as SAP Mentors, an elite network of high-value members of the SAP Developer Network (SDN), Business Process Expert (BPX), and SAP BusinessObjects communities.

Current Ambassadors include the former Global BusinessObjects Network (GBN) steering committee members who represented the community during its merger into ASUG at the end of 2009:

Mark D. Frederic, Ball Corporation
Dan Grew, AstraZeneca
Ken Hartman, Hughes Network Systems, LLC
Brad Hay, WorkSafeBC
Jamie Oswald, Sisters of Mercy Health System
David Rathbun, The Dagira Group, Founder of BusinessObjects Board (BOB)
Simon To, Rent-A-Center, Inc.

The Americas' SAP Users' Group (ASUG(R)) is an independent, volunteer-run organization that facilitates knowledge transfer among the community of SAP customers by providing user-driven educational opportunities, professional networking and a forum that provides insight and influence to SAP. ASUG maintains a unique position within the SAP community through its: combination of highly-focused education tools; access to subject matter experts and SAP executives; ability to influence SAP products and services; and personal networking opportunities with SAP professionals. As a result, members from organizations of all sizes have access to resources that can solve their SAP-related business problems more efficiently and cost-effectively, realizing a significant return from their membership.
