GT Solar International Inc (NASDAQ:
SOLR) reported an increase in its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings and lifted its forecast. GT Solar reported its FQ4 profit at $51.9 million, or $0.41 per share, up from $33.3 million, or $0.23 per share, in the year-earlier period. Its revenue climbed to $271.6 million from $194.7 million. However, analysts were expecting a profit of $0.34 per share on revenue of $223.2 million. GT Solar lifted its FY12 earnings outlook to a range of $1.55 to $1.85 per share, from its earlier range of $1.25 to $1.50 per share. Analysts expected FY12 earnings of $1.46 per share. SOLR shares jumped 13.60% to $13.20 in the after-hours trading session.
Analysts are expecting Medtronic Inc (NYSE:
MDT) to have earned $0.93 per share on revenue of $4.29 billion in the fiscal fourth quarter. MDT shares fell 0.07% to $41.23 in after-hours trading.
CNinsure Inc (NASDAQ:
CISG) reported a more than three-fold year-over-year surge in its first-quarter net income. The company reported its quarterly earnings at $0.72 per American depositary share, versus $0.22 per share, in the year-ago period. The company's revenue surged 28% to $47.9 million. CISG shares surged 5.41% to $16.75 in the after-hours trading session.
Analysts expect Applied Materials Inc (NASDAQ:
AMAT) to report its Q2 earnings at $0.37 per share on revenue of $2.77 billion. AMAT shares rose 0.07% to $13.80 in after-hours trading.
