American Medical Systems' GreenLight HPS® Approved for Use in Japan (AMMD)

American Medical Systems AMMD today announced it has received clearance from the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare to market and distribute its GreenLight HPS laser therapy system for the treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, or enlarged prostate, in Japan. As the worldwide market leader in laser BPH treatment, AMS' GreenLight provides treatment with fewer side effects than TURP, improving clinical outcomes and patient safety for individuals with mild to severe BPH symptoms. The system is designed to enable the treatment of a wide range of gland sizes, as well as for patients on anti-coagulation therapy.
