• Analysts expect Sanderson Farms, Inc. SAFM to report quarterly earnings at $2.66 per share on revenue of $791.11 million before the opening bell. Sanderson Farms shares rose 0.37 percent to $89.60 in after-hours trading.
• Pier 1 Imports Inc PIR reported stronger-than-expected results for its third quarter and named Terry London as interim president and CEO. Pier 1 shares jumped 21.91 percent to $7.90 in the after-hours trading session.
• Before the opening bell, Scholastic Corp SCHL is projected to report its quarterly earnings at $1.92 per share on revenue of $628.6 million. Scholastic shares dropped 1.05 percent to close at $46.00 on Wednesday.
