Monday's After Hours Movers: Rent-A-Center Crashes, Broadcom Reports A Beat, Cheesecake Factory Falling

U.S. markets were mostly flat during Monday's trading session ahead of an extremely busy week of earnings releases. Monday's after-hours session was relatively quiet with few notable earnings reports.

Broadcom Corporation BRCM reported its third-quarter results. The company earned $0.77 per share on revenue of $2.19 billion – a top and bottom line beat compared to the consensus estimate of $0.74 per share and $2.14 billion. Shares of Broadcom gained just over 2 percent following the release.

Shares of Rent-A-Center Inc RCII plummeted lower by more than 16 percent and were seen trading at $21.40 – marking a new 52-week low following a mixed earnings report. The company announced that it earned $0.47 per share in its third quarter on revenue of $791.605 million. The Street was looking for an earnings per share of $0.45 on revenue of $803.25 million.

Rent-A-Center also issued guidance and expects to earn $0.52 to $0.62 per share in the fourth quarter and earn $2.00-$2.10 for the full fiscal year – both figures fell short of the $0.68 per share and $2.15 per share analysts were looking for.

Cheesecake Factory Inc CAKE reported it earned an adjusted $0.59 per share in the quarter, topping the $0.56 per share analysts were expecting. Revenue of $526.7 million fell short of the $534.78 million expected. Shares were seen trading higher by just over 1 percent at $52.70 shortly after the release but were seen trading in negative territory by 4:23 p.m. ET.
