Names To Watch Following Expedia's Q1 Report

Shares of Expedia Inc EXPE surged in the after hours session Thursday following the release of the company’s Q1 results.


After falling 2.11 percent during the regular trading session, Expedia surged to $100.25 in after hours trading, up 6.39 percent.
 
The company reported that room night growth accelerated to 32 percent year-over-year, with domestic and international room nights growing 23 percent and 41 percent year-over-year, respectively.

Gross bookings increased 19 percent and revenue increased 14 percent year-over-year. Excluding the impact of foreign exchange, gross bookings increased 25 percent and revenue increased 23 percent year-over-year.

Revenue for the first quarter came in at $1.373 billion with adjusted EPS of $(0.03).

Other names to watch included Priceline Group Inc PCLN which traded at $1,240.50 in the after hours market, up 0.22 percent.

Orbitz Worldwide, Inc. OWW was unchanged at $11.72 while Tripadvisor Inc TRIP traded at $80.84, up 0.44 percent.

Ctrip.com International, Ltd. (ADR) CTRP was also unchanged in the after hours session and had closed at $63.68 Thursday, down 0.56 percent.
