3D Printing Stocks Lower As ExOne & VoxelJet Disappoint

Shares of ExOne XONE are trading sharply lower following earnings and revenues that disappointed. Earnings came in at a loss of $0.32 per share, missing the consensus for a $0.14 loss by $0.18. Revenues were also weaker than anticipated at 11.2 million vs. the the 11.86 million expectations. Margins were weak as well, with 22.3 percent gross margin in the second quarter of 2014, compared 45.3 percent from a year earlier. On a brighter note, ExOne did reaffirm guidance for 2014, with revenues expected to be $55-60 million Shares of German 3D printer VoxelJet VJET are also trading lower following their earnings report, which disappointed on both the top and bottom line. They too reaffirmed guidance. Shares of ExOne are down eight percent after hours, last quoted at 27.65, while shares of VoxelJet are at 15.03, down 7.5 percent. Shares of other 3D printing related stocks are weaker in sympathy, with 3D Systems DDD and Stratasys SSYS both lower by roughly 0.25 percent
