UPDATE: Verizon Posts Rise In Q4 Revenue

Verizon Communications VZ posted a wider fourth-quarter loss. Verizon posted a quarterly loss of $4.23 billion, or $1.48 per share, versus a year-ago loss of $2.02 billion, or $0.71 per share. Excluding items, Verizon's adjusted earnings came in at $0.38 per share. Its revenue climbed 5.7% to $30.05 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.50 per share on revenue of $29.83 billion. Verizon shares closed at $42.54 on Friday.
