UPDATE: VF Corp Posts Rise In Q3 Profit, Lifts FY12 Profit Forecast

VF Corp VFC reported a rise in its third-quarter profit. VF's quarterly profit surged to $381.3 million, or $3.42 per share, versus $300.7 million, or $2.69 per share, in the year-ago period. On an adjusted basis, VF earned $3.52 per share. Its revenue rose to $3.12 billion from $2.73 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $3.49 per share on sales of $3.16 billion. VF lifted its full-year adjusted profit view by $0.10 per share to $9.60 per share. However, analysts were expecting profit of $9.55 per share for the year. VF shares closed at $166.77 on Friday.
