Scotiabank Posts 57% Surge In FQ3 Profit, Lifts Dividend

Bank of Nova Scotia BNS reported a 57% rise in its fiscal third quarter. Scotiabank's quarterly earnings climbed to C$2.1 billion, or C$1.69 per share, from C$1.3 billion, or C$1.10 per share, in the year-ago period. Scotiabank also lifted its quarterly dividend by 2 Canadian cents per share to 57 Canadian cents per share. Scotiabank shares gained 0.77% to $53.75 in pre-market trading.
