EADS Posts Upbeat Q2 Earnings, Lifts Forecast

European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co NV EADSY reported a rise in its second-quarter earnings and lifted its full-year forecast. EADS posted its quarterly net profit at 461 million euros, up from 121 million euros, in the year–ago period. Its revenue climbed 12% to 13.53 billion euros. Its earnings before interest and taxes, excluding one-off items, came in at 735 million euros, up from 371 million euros in the year-ago period, versus analysts' estimates of 596 million euros. EADS shares closed at $34.76 yesterday.
