Travelzoo TZOO released its fiscal second-quarter earnings results prior to the opening bell on Thursday. The New York City-based company reported net income of $7.3 million or $0.45 per share, comapared to $4.9 million or $0.30 per share, in the year ago period. This beat analysts' consensus EPS estimates of $0.41.
Revenues in the quarter were up 5% to $39.36 million versus $37.57 million in last year's second-quarter. This missed Street consensus revenue estimates of $40.33 million.
During Thursday's trading session, TZOO shares opened the day sharply higher, but have since given back all of their gains. At last check, TZOO had turned negative and was trading down 0.69% to $21.58.
