Alcoa AA kicked off earnings season on Monday after the closing bell. The company reported a second-quarter net loss of $2 million or break even per share, compared to net income of $322 million or $0.28 per share, in the year ago period.
On an adjusted basis, net income from continuing operations was $61 million or $0.06 per share. This was in-line with Wall Street EPS estimates.
Sales for the quarter came in at $5.96 billion from $6.59 billion in last year's second-quarter. This came in ahead of analysts' consensus revenue estimates of $5.81 billion.
In Monday's after hours trading session, AA shares were last up 0.23% to $8.78.
