Nordson Rises 3% on Q2 Results

Nordson Corp.

released its fiscal second-quarter earnings results after the closing bell on Monday. The company reported net income of $52.11 million or $0.80 per share, compared to $65.24 million or $0.95 per share, in last year's corresponding quarter. On an adjusted basis, which is comparable to analysts' consensus, NDSN reported net income of $54.74 million or $0.84 per share. This missed analysts' consensus EPS estimates of $0.87. Revenues in the quarter were $315.19 million versus $318.92 million last year. This also came in below Wall Street analysts' consensus estimates of $321.16 million. Looking ahead to Q3, the company sees sales in a range of $337 million to $349 million and EPS of $0.96 to $1.04. Currently, analysts anticipate that the company will report earnings per share of $0.86 on revenues of $325.96 million for the fiscal third-quarter. In Monday's after hours trading session, NDSN shares have gained 2.76% to $50.35.
