Sony Reports Annual Loss, Projects To Post Profit This Year

Sony Corp SNE reported a net loss for the fiscal year. Sony posted a net loss of Y456.66 billion for the period. It posted an operating loss of Y67.28 billion on revenue of Y6.493 trillion for period. For the fiscal fourth quarter, Sony posted a net loss of Y255.21 billion, versus a year-ago net loss of Y388.80 billion. It posted an operating loss of Y1.41 billion, versus a loss of Y73.37 billion. Its revenue climbed to Y1.600 trillion versus Y1.581 trillion. For the current fiscal year, the company expects a net profit of Y30 billion, an operating profit of Y180 billion and revenue of Y7.4 trillion. Sony shares closed at $15.23 yesterday.
