Japan Tobacco Fiscal-Year Net Profit Up 32%

reported a 32% rise in its net profit for the fiscal ended March. Japan Tobacco's net profit climbed to Y320.88 billion in the just-ended business year, from a year-ago profit of Y243.32 billion. Its revenue fell 1.2% to Y2.034 trillion from Y2.059 trillion, while operating profit surged 14% to Y459.18 billion from Y401.32 billion. For this fiscal year ending March 2013, Japan Tobacco expects a 0.9% drop in net profit, a 5.2% gain in operating profit and a 4.2% rise in revenue.
