Dow Chemical's (DOW) fourth-quarter profit plunged 47% to 25 cents a share, disappointing Wall Street, which expected 32 cents a share.
The company blamed weak demand in Europe as it struggles with its debt crisis, and less-than-expected sales in the United States, which also is struggling to get its economy out of low gear.
