Universal Forest Products Declares a Dividend of $0.20 Per Share

Universal Forest Products, Inc. (Nasdaq: UFPI) today announced that its board of directors approved a semiannual dividend payment of $0.20 per share at their Oct. 14, 2010, meeting. The dividend is payable on Dec. 15, 2010, to shareholders of record on Dec. 1, 2010. The board also authorized an additional two million shares for the Company's share repurchase program, to be added to the nearly one million shares previously authorized and still available in that program.

“Our dividend payment is another show of appreciation for those who have placed their trust and investment in Universal, and a statement of our firm footing and bright future,” said Chairman William G. Currie. “We are pleased to offer it and still have the resources we need to take advantage of opportunities for growth and for increasing shareholder returns.”
