U.S. stocks traded higher this morning, with the Dow Jones index gaining more than 600 points on Friday.
Following the market opening Friday, the Dow traded up 1.29% to 49,537.77 while the NASDAQ climbed 0.97% to 22,759.56. The S&P 500 also rose, gaining, 1.02% to 6,867.68.

Information technology shares gained by 2.7% on Friday.
In trading on Friday, consumer discretionary stocks fell by 2.4%.

Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) shares fell around 9% on Friday after the company reported mixed fourth-quarter financial results.
Amazon reported fourth-quarter net sales of $213.39 billion, up 14% year-over-year. The revenue total beat a Street consensus estimate of $211.30 billion, according to Benzinga Pro. The company reported fourth-quarter earnings per share of $1.95, missing a Street consensus estimate of $1.97.

In commodity news, oil traded down 0.3% to $63.08 while gold traded up 1.6% at $4,969.10.

European shares were higher today. The eurozone's STOXX 600 gained 0.6%, while Spain's IBEX 35 Index rose 1.1%. London's FTSE 100 rose 0.4%, Germany's DAX gained 0.8% and France's CAC 40 rose 0.3% during the session.
Asia Pacific Markets
Asian markets closed mostly lower on Thursday, with Japan's Nikkei falling 0.88%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gaining 0.14%, China's Shanghai Composite declining 0.64% and India's BSE Sensex falling 0.60%.
Economics
The US Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index rose 2.4% month-over-month in January following a 0.1% growth in the previous month.
