Now Hide Your WhatsApp Chats Even Better With Secret Codes: Here's How

You can now hide your WhatsApp chats even better thanks to the latest update from the Meta Platforms Inc.-owned META messaging app.

What Happened: WhatsApp Chat Lock has now been improved even further, allowing users to hide and lock chats using secret codes.

WhatsApp first introduced the Chat Lock feature back in May 2023. It has now been updated to allow users to set unique passwords, including emojis, to secure their private conversations against unauthorized access.

Alongside the existing biometric authentication and screen lock security measures, users can now long-press on a chat to lock it, hiding the conversation behind a secret code. This code is only accessible through WhatsApp’s search bar, providing an added layer of security for user chats.

Given that WhatsApp is used by billions of users around the world for personal as well as professional chats, the new privacy-focused features are a welcome addition.
