Alcohol Distributor Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits Inks Partnership With Automation Firm Symbotic

Beverage alcohol distributor Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits has entered into a strategic agreement with automation technology firm Symbotic Inc SYM. The financial details were not disclosed.

Under the agreement, Symbotic's A.I.-powered software and robotics warehouse automation systems will be deployed in select Southern Glazer's distribution centers.

The companies have agreed to implement the first of these systems by 2025.

Symbotic's end-to-end automation system, with robotic case picking capabilities will enable Southern Glazer's to transform its distribution centers to improve fill rates, order accuracy and customer service times.

Rick Cohen, Symbotic's Chairman and CEO, said, "We are very pleased to welcome Southern Glazer's as a customer and look forward to working with them to continue to transform their distribution operations."

Price Action: SYM shares closed higher by 8.20% at $35.89 on Tuesday.
