Elon Musk Predicts 'Inevitable' Adoption Of This Tesla Tech By All Major Automakers: 'To The Well-Organized Mind…'

Tesla Inc TSLA CEO Elon Musk expressed his conviction that the widespread adoption of Tesla’s North American charging standard (NACS) by all major automakers is “inevitable.”

What Happened: “To the well-organized mind, it was inevitable,” Musk wrote in response to a Tesla enthusiast’s observation that nearly all major automakers, except Volkswagen VWAGY, have embraced Tesla’s charging standard since Ford started this move in May 2023.

The automakers that have already adopted Tesla’s NACS include Ford, General Motors, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Honda, Rivian, BMW, and now Toyota.

Notably, Stellantis NV, the parent company of Chrysler, and Volkswagen remain the major players yet to make this transition. Toyota is the most recent entrant to embrace NACS.

Why It Matters: Tesla’s Supercharger Network recently stood out as an exceptional performer in customer satisfaction within the electric vehicle charging landscape.

The rollout of NACS, and rivals like Ford and GM taking to it, was seen as Tesla’s “unique knack of getting revenue out of their competitors” by one analyst.
