Tesla Says Customers With Enough Referral Credits Can Now Get A Factory Tour: Here's The Details

Select Tesla Inc TSLA customers can now get a peek at how their cars are made.

What Happened: Users with 15,000 referral credits can now redeem them for a walking tour of Tesla’s Gigafactory in Austin, Texas or its Fremont Factory in California.

On redeeming, the Tesla account holder and three other guests can take the tour. However, children below the age of 12 are not permitted, Tesla clarified.

Once the user redeems the offer, Tesla will get back to them within five business days with further details on scheduling the tour. However, customers might not be able to flaunt the trip or have pictures taken with Tesla's upcoming Cybertruck. "Photography and video recording are strictly prohibited," Tesla said.

European customers can similarly avail a tour of Tesla’s Gigafactory in Berlin with 15,000 referral credits.

Why It Matters: Tesla users can accumulate sufficient referral credits by having friends or family use their referral link to purchase a Tesla product for the first time or even take a demo drive of a Tesla.

Tesla awards active participants of its referral program in several ways. Last month, the EV giant offered its customers the option to redeem 30,000 credits for an invitation to its Cybertruck delivery event scheduled for later this year.
