Trump Jr. Accuses Fox News Of Silencing Dad's Supporters Amid Tucker Carlson Interview Surge: 'Big Reason Why Their Ratings Are Dying'

Donald Trump Jr., son of former President Donald Trump, has accused Fox News of censorship and silencing his father’s supporters, attributing this to the decline in the network’s ratings and the success of his father’s recent interview.

What Happened:  “Fox News is trying to censor and silence Trump supporters to protect their hand-picked establishment candidates,” Trump Jr. said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

He related this perceived censorship to the lagging ratings of the network. “That’s a big reason why their ratings are dying, while my father’s interview with Tucker Carlson is already at 93 million views!!!”

The tweet was posted in the context of a recent interview between former President Donald Trump and Tucker Carlson. This interview aired on Musk-owned X just five minutes before the GOP debate on Fox News started.

At the time of writing this report, Carlson’s interview with Trump had achieved about 125 million views.

Why It Matters: This online interview with the former President took place at Trump’s golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey.

The interview was a critical commentary on a range of subjects, including President Joe Biden, John Epstein, and political enemies. The timing of this release was seen as a direct challenge to Fox News and the GOP debate.

Elon Musk responded to the interview, stating that regardless of personal political views, Trump’s posts were among the funniest on the platform.

Trump and Carlson, despite their past disagreements, have combined their influence to challenge Fox News. This comes following Trump’s decision to skip the first GOP presidential debate of the 2024 campaign, which many perceive as a snub to Fox News.
