BWXT Pockets Engineering Contract From GE Hitachi For Small Modular Reactor - BWX Technologies (NYSE:BWXT)

BWX Technologies Inc BWXT has secured an engineering contract from GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) for its BWRX-300 small modular reactor (SMR) reactor pressure vessel (RPV). Financial terms were not disclosed.
Established in 2007, GEH is a global nuclear alliance created by General Electric Company GE and Hitachi Ltd. HTHIY to serve the global nuclear industry.
This announcement is subsequent to a teaming agreement entered in 2021 to cooperate on engineering and procurement to support the design, manufacturing and commercialization of the BWRX-300 SMR.
Engineering analysis, design support, manufacturing, and procurement planning are among the tasks related to the contract.
"Intricate design projects like the RPV for GEH's BWRX-300 are well-suited for BWXT's engineering capabilities, as BWXT excels in supplying design solutions for complex nuclear components that BWXT can efficiently manufacture," commented John MacQuarrie, president of BWXT Commercial Operations.
Price Action: BWXT shares traded higher by 1.45% at $62.77 on the last check Tuesday.
