U.S. stocks closed higher on Monday with the Nasdaq Composite jumping more than 90 points amid gains in Microsoft Corporation MSFT and Apple Inc AAPL shares.
Let’s have a look at the major economic events scheduled for today.
- The S&P Corelogic Case-Shiller home price index for August is scheduled for release at 9:00 a.m. ET. Analysts expect see the monthly rate declining 0.8% in August following a 0.4% drop in July.
- The FHFA house price index for August will be released at 9:00 a.m. ET. The house price index is projected to decline 0.7% in August after dropping 0.6% in the previous month.
- The Conference Board's consumer confidence index for October is scheduled for release at 10:00 a.m. ET. The consumer confidence index is estimated to drop 2.0 points to 106.0 in October.
- The Richmond Fed's manufacturing index for October will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. The index is expected to decline to minus 3 in October from prior reading of zero.
- The Treasury is set to auction 2-year notes at 1:00 p.m. ET.
- Data on money supply for September will be released at 1:00 p.m. ET.
