Turtle Beach Corp HEAR stock was trading higher by nearly 1.5 percent ahead of Friday's open after rising as much as 7 percent earlier. The gaming audio brand announced a new partnership with Knicks Gaming in which it will act as the official gaming peripherals partner for the 2018 NBA 2K League season.

General Electric Company GE gained more than 6 percent early Friday morning in reaction to the company's earnings report. The conglomerate said it earned 16 cents per share in the first quarter on revenue of $28.7 billion versus expectations of 12 cents per share and $27.5 billion.

Ionis Pharmaceuticals Inc IONS gained more than 10 percent. The RNA-targeted drug discovery and development company said it expanded a strategic collaboration with Biogen Inc BIIB to develop drug candidates for a wide range of neurological diseases.

Nike Inc NKE was trading lower by nearly 1 percent. The apparel company could see increased volatility after fellow shoe company Skechers USA Inc SKX reported inline first quarter results but a concerning second quarter guidance sent its shares lower by nearly 25 percent.

Pinnacle Foods Inc PF was trading higher by more than 7 percent. The move higher follows an announcement that activist investor Jana Partners bought a 9.1 percent stake in the food company and is urging the company to consider a range of strategic options, including a potential sale of itself. Shares of ConAgra CAG, thought to be a potential bidder, were up 3 percent in sympathy.
