Chinese stocks were trading slightly higher on Monday. The Shanghai Composite gained 7 points, or 0.22 percent to 3,132.29.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has cleared Hillary Clinton on the emails. US stock markets closed lower overnight, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 0.22 percent, to 17,888.28, the S&P500 index dropping 0.17 percent to 2,085.18, and the Nasdaq Composite slipping 0.24 percent to 5,046.37.
Oil prices traded higher on Monday, with the US WTI crude futures on the NYMEX gaining 1.02 percent to trade at $44.52 a barrel.
Top market movers among the Shanghai Composite index are as follows:
- Inner Mongolia BaoTou Steel Union Co Ltd (600010: SHH) shares gained 1.1 percent to 2.84 CNY.
- CITIC Securities Co Ltd (600030: SHH) rose 0.7 percent to 16.95 CNY.
- China Petroleum & Chemical Corp (600028: SHH) shares rose 0.6 percent to 4.97 CNY.
- China United Network Communications Ltd (600050: SHH) shares down around 1.7 percent to 5.31 CNY.
- China Railway Group Ltd (601390: SHH) dropped 0.6 percent to 8.65 CNY.
- Industrial Bank Co Ltd (601166: SHH) fell 0.5 percent to 16.28 CNY.
