ClearOne Granted New Patent For Audio Streaming

ClearOne Incorporated CLRO revealed that the U.S. Patent and Trademark office has granted a fresh patent that covers audio streaming technology. According to the company, the Patent and Trademark office has issued the patent on May 3 entitled "Audio Video Distribution System using Multiple Network Speaker Nodes in a Multi-Speaker Session."

ClearOne said the '864 patent covered networked speakers, including a master-slave clock, a preamplifier, and sensors. This included microphones, which are used to improve speaker protection and performance. The company added that the patent included a master-slave clock enabling synchronization of audio output in multi-speaker sessions.

The company stated that embodiments of this patent could be used to equalize every speaker individually to ensure that each speaker has maximized frequency response for the best possible sound reproduction. The company indicated that embodiments of this patent could also be used to curb a speaker from being overdriven and damaged.

Its press statement said, "This ongoing development of new patents continues ClearOne's market leadership position, strong history of product innovation, and development of cutting-edge technologies."

The stock dropped 6.1 percent on Tuesday.
