Economic Indicators Hitting The Newswires This Week

The economic calendar for this week is set to gain steam as traders are likely to keep an eye on reports on jobless claims, retail sales, industrial production and producer and consumer price inflation.

The initial jobless claims data for the month of June is expected on Thursday, July 14, at 8:30 a.m. ET. The median estimate calls for 265,000.

Data for producer price index for the month of June will be announced Thursday, with median estimate calling for 0.3 percent increase.

Meanwhile, June retail sales data is expected to hit the market on Friday, July 15, at 8:30 a.m. ET. Median estimate predicts 0.1 percent rise.

In addition, median estimate for consumer price index stand at 0.2 percent. The CPI data will also be released around 8:30 a.m. ET.

The consensus estimate for the June Industrial Production calls for an increase of 0.2 percent. The data will be released Friday at 9:15 a.m. ET.  Business Inventories data is expected at 10:00 a.m. ET, with consensus estimating 0.1 percent improvement.
