Worst Performing Industries For June 17, 2016


The Dow fell 0.40 percent to 17,660.88, while the NASDAQ composite index declined 0.83 percent to 4,804.84. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index dropped 0.45 percent to 2,068.58.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

Computers Wholesale: This industry slipped 1.9 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Speed Commerce Inc (OTC: SPDC), which fell 35 percent. Speed Commerce shares have dropped 98.21 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has declined 1.52 percent in the same period.

Electronic Equipment: This industry declined 1.6 percent by 11:00 am with Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) moving down 2.2 percent. Brean Capital maintained a Buy rating for Apple, with a price target of $125.

Long Distance Carriers: This industry fell 1.5 percent by 11:00 am ET. General Communication, Inc. (NASDAQ: GNCMA) shares dropped 2.5 percent in today's trading. General Communication's PEG ratio is 3.92.

Catalog & Mail Order Houses: The industry dropped 1.4 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Vipshop Holdings Ltd - ADR (NYSE: VIPS), which declined 2.3 percent.
