The Dow rose 0.22 percent to 17,977.45, while the NASDAQ composite index gained 0.04 percent to 4,963.94. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 0.15 percent to 2,115.22.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

Regional - Midwest Banks: This industry slipped 1.3 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Old Second Bancorp Inc. (NASDAQ: OSBC), which fell 1 percent. Old Second Bancorp's PEG ratio is 7.25.

Computer Peripherals: This industry declined 1.1 percent by 11:00 am with Voxeljet AG (ADR) (NASDAQ: VJET) moving down 2.1 percent. Voxeljet shares have dropped 31.08 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 0.33 percent in the same period.

Electronic Equipment: This industry fell 0.7 percent by 11:00 am ET. Koss Corporation (NASDAQ: KOSS) shares dropped 6.2 percent in today's trading. Koss shares have declined 23.02 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 0.33 percent in the same period.

Specialty Retail, Other: The industry dropped 0.6 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Outerwall Inc (NASDAQ: OUTR), which declined 3.7 percent.
