Staples Unveils Interactive Store Map Pilot to Save Time

Staples Inc SPLS disclosed Thursday that a new interactive store map feature is available on its iPhone app, which would create an easier and more convenient in-store shopping experience for customers. Staples said that its iPhone app (version 5.0 or higher) would help customers find products quicker and plan, as well as, route their shopping trip in stores. The company added that its interactive store map pilot program was now in effect in 83 select stores across New Jersey. The company's SVP for North American Stores and online marketing, Alison Corcoran, commented, "Our customers have been asking for an easier way to find products in our stores. We know they're busy so this new interactive store map will help them save time and allow them to focus on their business." Similarly, the company's EVP of globale ecommerce, Faisal Masud, said that "This pilot program addresses the need to help customers find products quickly. By digitizing the store with features such as interactive maps, we're able to create a more user-friendly and customized shopping experience that adds real value to their Staples experience." Shares of the company traded 0.34 higher on Thursday.
