ABC Doubles Down On Its Own Summer Games With 'Match Game' Revival

Investors were already well aware ABC DIS was going reality heavy this summer, but on Thursday the network revealed it wasn't done with alternative programming. Joining the revival of the Michael Strahan hosted "The $100,000 Pyramid" and the second season of the Steve Harvey led primetime "Family Feud," will be "Match Game," starring Emmy winner Alec Baldwin. The long-running classic game show ran for decades and was previously brought back in 1998, though it only lasted a season. Baldwin is a big name "get" as a host and that virtually assures shareholders ABC has a vested interest in getting additional "A"- list talent to make the up the show's rotating celebrity panel. It has also been reported Baldwin will donate his hosting salary to his wife's foundation which helps arts-related charities. Other realty programming hitting ABC this summer include "500 Questions," "Bachelor In Paradise" and "Battlebots." The network's only new scripted programming will come from summer staple "Mistresses" and rookie comedy "Uncle Buck."
