Unum Group Says Josh Nelson To Join As CFO Of Its Colonial Life Unit

Unum Group UNM disclosed that Josh Nelson would be joining the company as its chief financial officer of its Colonial Life business. According to the company, he would focus on driving financial results as key tactical partner to corporate, as well as, business leaders at Colonial Life and across the firm.

Unum Group said Nelson would be responsible for offering comprehensive financial support, pricing and valuation apart from driving value creation and profitability of the business. The incumbent would also oversee actuarial support, as well as, collaboration with Unum US voluntary benefits lines of business.

The company indicated Nelson worked with MetLife, Inc. MET earlier where he most recently served as vice president and CFO of regional markets and sales for group, voluntary and worksite. Before that, he held leadership roles in financial planning and analysis at The Hartford and American International Group Inc AIG.

On Tuesday, shares of the company traded higher by 0.7 percent.
