Tesla Reportedly Set To Add 10 New Stores In China

According to a report by DigiTimes, Tesla Motors Inc TSLA plans on opening a new self-operated retail store in Beijing on April 19, representing its fifth in the city and 17th store throughout China.

DigiTimes, citing Tesla China's Sales director Wang Hao, added Tesla plans on adding 10 additional stores throughout China in 2016. The new stores will focus on the Beijing, Shanghai, Canton and Shenzhen markets.

The publication added that the company has no plans to change its selling format, which consists of customers placing an order online and picking up the vehicle at a retail location.

Finally, DigiTimes added that Tesla's Model X will be released in China "in the near future."

Shares of Tesla were trading lower by around 0.30 percent Friday morning.
